The Marmara Gallery is pleased to announce an extraordinary exhibition of paintings and installation by Anne Patterson. She is a painter, sculptor, set and costume designer based in New York City.
The exhibition will feature twenty six paintings and installation of life size wire figures hanging above the Gallery space.

Her abstract paintings developed out of her keen interest in traditional Japanese ink work, vertically presented as a diptych or triptych. In these watercolor and metallic qouache, abstract paintings we see continued interest in nature for inspiration. The texture, pattern, and color of the paintings create strong emphasis on senses. Looking transforms itself into feeling.

The installation of human figures, hanging in the air could be viewed as a visceral and kinetic dance, gracefully physical and exquisitely detailed, unmasking the inner complexity of figures with intersection energy. Her work lavished with care and attention captures the beauty and mystery of human existence.

She recently exhibited at Wall space in New York and “Sevilla Entre Culturas” in Spain.

Her art work can be found in private collection in US. and U.K.

Her theater designs have been seen in Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Arena Stage, The Kennedy Center, Aspen Music Festival, The Wilma Theater, The National Theater of London and many others.
